Cup Matches 2016
With the current bad weather and pressure on groundstaff at clubs, some clubs may struggle to complete the fixtures on the allocated night for the first round of the cup.
This sets out the process that club must follow for this and every other round.
The early rounds have a dedicated match night for the cup fixtures to be played. Every effort must be made to play on this night. In the event this is not possible due to weather, then two alternative fixture dates must be agreed between the two clubs. In order to fulfill this fixture the home club can defer the fixture to the away club and the away club can host. Every effort and opportunity must be taken to settle the fixture on the cricket field.
Both teams must make every effort to ensure the match is played. It is the home clubs responsibility to ensure the match has a venue, but it is both clubs responsibility to ensure communication and agreement takes place to arrange the dates for the fixture to be played. If one of the clubs is not in contact with the other and this prevents the match from taking place (ie waiting for the coin toss), then this must be reported to Match secretary, this will result in the offending club being expelled from the competition and the other club will progress. If neither club make the effort to arrange the fixture or report that they haven’t received communication from the other, then both teams will be expelled.
Each rounds lasts for two weeks the fixture must be settled within this period. No extensions will be granted. The match must have a result two days prior to the commencement of the next round.

All results shall be reported in the normal way. In the event the match cannot be settled by playing then the first option is a bowl off between the two teams. This could be on the pitch, in the nets or even at an indoors facility if possible. In no circumstances can the match be played indoors. If this is not possible then if both teams are present then a coin toss will have to take place. If the opposition are not present then the home side will contact the match secretary and they will perform the coin toss on their behalf and the result posted on Play Cricket.
For any clarification on these issues please email the results secretary.
Most issues within the league are caused by cup matches. Most of these are caused by lack of communication between the clubs.
